2nd Graders Perform Their Reader's Theater

Last week Mrs. Holland's small group came to our classroom to present their Reader's Theater story, "Click Clack Moo." 

They were great examples for our class as we are practicing our own Reader's Theater stories during Daily 5 this week!

Chick Visit

      Kolton Ogle (one of my former students) and Lilly Moon (both second graders) came from Mrs. Fleck's classroom to present to our class about their class pet. 

Music Program

For our spring vocal performances parents were invited into our music classes to see what we have been working on this semester! The kids LOVED having their parents, grandparents, and siblings come watch them sing!

Flags for First Graders

On Monday, April 14th, the first graders got to attend an assembly called 

Flags for First Graders. 

It was an AWESOME assembly where men from the 40-8 taught the kids about a couple different flags and a lot of facts about the United States' Flag. 

Did you know each fold made in the US flag represents for something specific?  

Each first grader got their own flag with a stand too!

Sink or Float Boats!

Last Friday (April 11th), we made our boats out of recycled materials and tested the boats to see which group's boat could hold the most marbles without sinking.

Here are the results:

Buccaneer Boat (Giraffes Group) held 75 marbles before sinking.

Cruise Ship (Baboons Group) held 119 Marbles before sinking.

Crash (Rhinos Group) held 133 Marbles before sinking.

Frozen (Lions Group) held 136 Marbles before sinking.

SS Stampy (Elephants Group) held ALL the marbles and still floated! 

Everyone did such a great job using their creative brains and their cooperative skills to build their boat with their group!

3rd Quarter Paws Assembly

On Wednesday April 2nd, the we had our First Grade PAWS Assembly. During these quarterly assemblies, students are recognized for great effort in Reading, Writing, Paws Cards, and Perfect Attendance.
