Pilgrim Art
The kids thought their pilgrims hair was better being used as mustaches, beards, and visors! They make me laugh.

1st Quarter Hugs Assembly
Jerika and Alicia earned the Reading Award. Kitana and Maner were recognized for the Math Award. Tess and Harper achieved the Writing Award. Our whole class earned 15 hugs cards this quarter!
Harvest Day Celebrations!
We started our day with making a class book of what Mrs. Smith should be for Halloween. Then the class got to play with Mrs. Korkow's and Mrs. Nelson's class in PE. We guessed how many candy corn pieces were in a big jar, split them up, counted them, and added it all together. In the afternoon, we worked together in groups to make one group member into a mummy! We finished our day by watching The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown video.

First Grade Fun Day!
Buchanan's PTO brought Phil Baker to our school for our First Grade Fun Day! We had a great afternoon singing, dancing, and laughing with Phil Baker in the gym and enjoyed our snacks while we watched episodes of The Magic School Bus.
A special shout out goes to Jessica Andersom and Kristen Jurgens for helping with the event with PTO!
Selfie Sticks at School?!
I bought a selfie stick recently for some upcoming summer events... I thought we could have some fun with it at school before the year is over!
Wind Vanes and Free Time
Our class learned about different weather tools during our science unit on weather. We made our own wind vanes and took them out to the softball fields to try them out! After our discussion about wind we took a few minutes to have some fun together.
